Personal property valuation

Property valuation in the canton of Valais

For a property in Valais, clearly identify every plot involved, especially where a house includes additional land or separate parking spaces. Describe the building, its use and access specifically. The documented condition provides the starting point; a possible extension or change of use should remain clearly identified as a separate proposal.

Request a valuation

From the geoportal to a parcel extract

The Valais geoportal brings together cantonal maps. Its public-law restrictions service, RDPPF, provides an on-screen view and a PDF extract for a parcel. The canton identifies properties using EGRID or the numbering area together with the parcel number. Copy references from your records and check the selected property. Save the extract with the consultation date and list questions about its entries separately.

Describe actual use and access

State whether the property is owner-occupied, used occasionally or rented, with any supporting records. For a house with several levels, floor plans help locate entrances, stairs, living rooms and ancillary spaces. Document actual vehicle access, parking and known access issues with recent photographs. Observations about the specific property are more useful than general assumptions about a region or altitude.

Keep different areas identifiable

For a house, list living area, land and separate outbuildings individually. For an apartment, add the floor, balcony or terrace, cellar, parking and shared maintenance records. For undeveloped land, prepare planning, servicing and access information. If a garden or parking space is on another parcel, identify that parcel too. Existing plans, renovation invoices and agreements help explain how the different parts of the property belong together.

Your enquiry with Suisse Homes

Our central contact in Steinhausen handles your enquiry. The first discussion covers the purpose of the valuation, available documents, the scope and terms of the service, and arrangements for a visit. Please also share your timetable. If a bank, authority or formal proceeding requires a particular type of report, its requirements need to be clarified first.

Official sources to prepare your enquiry

These sources describe the location and property records. They do not calculate an individual market value.

Frequently asked questions

Can an enquiry cover several parcels in Valais?

Describe each parcel separately and state which ones should be considered together. Include their identifiers and available plans. This helps establish whether, for example, the house, garden and access actually form part of the same property holding.

How should I describe an occasionally used apartment?

State its actual use, provide available rental documents and explain known conditions. Separate private renovations from shared works. Any proposed change of use should be clarified explicitly during the discussion rather than assumed to be possible already.

How much does a property valuation cost?

Your enquiry is non-binding. The services and any fees are explained during the first discussion, before you decide. An enquiry does not oblige you to sell. Please mention any specific requirements for the report at the outset.
